Forestry - Environment Certifications
Carrier Lumber is committed to responsible stewardship of the environment in its forest practices. To this end, Carrier Lumber has implemented and maintained an Environmental Management System which meets the ISO 14001 Certification Standard. Carrier Lumber forest operations have been certified to the ISO standard since 2004.
To further the commitment of responsible stewardship, Carrier Lumber has also certified its forestry operations to the SFI (Sustainable Forest Initiative) Standard 2010-2014, which promotes sustainable forest management with measures to protect forest values such as soil, water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat and species at risk.
Carrier Lumber is also committed to Chain of Custody (COC) certification. COC certification verifies that a company has a system that traces the flow of wood from certified forests through a company's facility. Carrier Lumber obtained COC certification in 2006.
